FOOD FEST 2018

The NSS Unit of GHSS Peringottukara organized a food fest "Ruchi-2018" on 7/12/2018 . We held it so as to raise fund for lending a helping hand for the needy. All the volunteers actively took part in it and we also had a'Live Kitchen' and a 'kulukki sarbath and fresh juice stall' as our highlight. We plan to give a portion of the fund to ,Sandwanam' a school for the differently-abled, an institution which is in dire need of funds.We visited the school 2 days ago and we are so happy that we could atleast contribute a bit of financial and lots of moral support for the institution by way of our fest. Our food fest was inaugurated by Jilla Panchayath Division Member Smt.Sheela Vijayakumar. 

VISIT TO THE SCHOOL OF DIFFERENTLY ABLED

Today,  6/12/18  we visited 'Sandwanam' school for the differently- abled children. It was really unforgettable. The volunteers learned much about the realities of life and I do hope that this day will surely bring about a positive change in their attitudes. They presented many entertainments and played with them. The 3 Hours we spent there will remain in their minds forever.

WORLD AIDS DAY, DIFFERENTLY-ABLED DAY

We observed World Aids Day and Differently abled Day in a befitting manner. Our principal Shri. Sajan K.H, who recently bagged the Best Zoology Teacher of the District award, led an effective awareness speech about the deadly disease AIDS. Our NSS leader Swathija Parvathy gave a good and very informative elocution on the importance of observing the day for the Differently-Abled. We also gave away prizes for the previous competitions held by the NSS on Keralapiravi.

PARTICIPATORY VILLAGE INAUGURATION

We selected ward 5 , Kizhakkummuri as our participatory(adopted) village. The inauguration of our village was held on 30/11/2018 at 2.00 pm. The inauguration turned out so colourful as we conducted it in the premises of Chaitanya Anganwadi. The programme was inaugurated by the ward member Smt. Subhadra Ravi in the presence of villagers,executive members, parents of Anganwadi students etc. The volunteers distrubuted "Snehasammanam" , sweets and snacks to the children. They presented kinds of entertainments. They also cleaned the surroundings of the anganwadi.We enjoyed the

 great, refreshing moments with the lovely kids.

BIO-DIVERSITY PARK

We initiated our works on setting up a bio-diversity park in our school. As the first  phase , each of the six groups planted saplings in our compoud on 19/11/2018. They are watered regularly and duly looked after.

Regular activity Campus Cleaning

 As a part of regular activity the NSS volunteers cleaned the school campus during the long interval on 16/11/2018 , friday.They cleaned the path on the front of school and the drainage on its side in the afternoon of 14/11/2018.

WORLD DIABETIC DAY CELEBRATION

Today we celebrated World Diabetic Day. All the NSS volunteers carried placards highlighting the importance of the day. We walked about 2 kms. Many members of school supporting bodies and teachers, Scout and Guide cadets and students participated in the walk.

CAMPUS CLEANING

As a part of regular activity the NSS volunteers cleaned the school campus on 2/11/2018.

KERALAPIRAVI CELEBRATIONS

This year's Keralapiravi celebrations were hosted by the N S S unit in our school. N S S volunteers presented kinds of programmes befitting the occasion like Elocution, Recitation and group songs glorifying Kerala. Poster Making competition and Quiz competition were also conducted by the unit .

NSS UNIT INAUGURATION

The inauguration of the new NSS Self Financing Unit was conducted on 29/10/2018. The inauguration was done by Hon.MLA (Nattika) Smt. Geetha Gopi. The function was chaired by Smt.Sheela Vijayakumar(Member,Dist.Panchayath)
